Classified: Easy and is great for preschool-First Grade
What you need:
- 9x12" Blue construction paper
- Coffee filter
- White streamers
- Food coloring
- Tissues
- Spray bottle
- Glue
- Wiggle Eyes
- Marker
- Paper Towels
- Optional: Cookie sheet and tin foil and/or wax paper to allow pieces to dry on.
What to do:
1. Preparation: Cut 6-8" strips out of the white steamers for the jellyfish's tentacles. I used 8, but you can use more or less than that. Lay the coffee filter and streamers onto a piece of wax paper/tin foil a top of a cookie sheet.
2. Have your preschooler- first grader select two food coloring colors. Add drops and dots throughout the streamers and coffee filter. Spray until all the colors fade and bleed into one another. Blot and allow to dry.
3. Carefully, remove the dried tentacles and jellyfish body from the cookie sheet.
4. Optional: We cut more of a head shape out of the coffee filter, but that is not necessary. Glue around the outer edge and place 3/4 of it onto the top of a sheet of blue construction paper- stuff with tissues and glue down the remaining piece.
5. Glue on the tentacles, starting at the body.
6. Glue on the eyes and add details to the face with marker. My 5 year old wanted to draw on his own face- I love his creativity!
