Art and Crafts

Here, you will find art lessons that I used to enjoy doing with my art classes; projects that I would teach preschoolers; and new art/craft tutorials that I create today. Each are broken down either into monthly themes or by category. Projects for moms are included as well!

Please feel free to leave comments- and send me pics of your completed projects, as I would love to highlight them on my Blog! Email me: classifiedmom1(at)gmail(dot)com

Must Have Art Supplies for Kids

Whether you are a parent, art teacher, child care provider, or an elementary teacher, the following is a great reference to have. It is a very general list that encompasses children of all ages in the area of both art and crafts. Remember, regardless of the age of the child "It is the process not the product."

  1. Paper. various sizes, colors and weights.
  2. Glue. White Glue, glue gun, glue sticks and decoupage glue.
  3. Paint. Acrylic, tempera, finger and even oil!
  4. Chalk. Great for both indoors and out!
  5. Thread and yarn.
  6. Paint, tooth and sponge brushes for painting.
  7. Recycled Material (jars, paper tubes, tissue boxes, etc.)
  8. The great outdoors- leaves, sticks, rocks, etc.
  9. Anything to color and draw: food coloring, crayons, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, pencils, charcoal pencils and chalk. (Chalk is great for both indoors and out!)
  10. Anything to cut: scissors, scrap-booking decorative scissors, etc.

Disclosure: The art projects on my blog are, to the best of my knowledge, my own creations. Unless I had a reoccurring memory relapse during a childhood crafting moment, or learned them via teaching, these projects are my own unless otherwise noted. I give credit where credit is due, I only ask that you do the same for me! All projects and templates are free, enjoy!
