Christmas Elf Handprint Craft

Christmas Elf Handprint Craft- 18 Month Old (with much help)

Make a cute Christmas Elf out of your child's handprint that will be a keepsake for years to come!

Classified: Easy and is great for children (and babies) of all ages!

What You Need:

• Skin colored paint
• Green paint
• Red construction paper
• Black marker
• Scissors
• White paper
• Glue
• Paintbrush
• Optional: Jingle bells or cotton balls for tip of hat; wiggle eyes or markers to make face; white paint and marbles in a box for background.
• Laminating material

What To Do:
 Prep: Cut small red, green and yellow triangles and thin rectangles for the elf's outfit.

1. Paint the palm of your child's hand a skin-tone color and the fingers green (sorry thumb you will put to good use later!) Print onto a white sheet of paper.

2. Using your child's thumb, paint only the top and print one on either side of the elves face to make ears. Allow to dry completely and outline with black marker.

3.  Add details: Glue on a jingle bell (or cotton ball) to the tip of the elf's hat and a thin rectangle to the hats brim (See photo below). Glue triangles (red, green and/or yellow) to make a collar around the face of the elf.

4. Draw in a face with markers or add wiggle eyes. Allow to dry and cut out.

5. Optional: turn your little elf into a keepsake ornament by cutting out a red circle large enough that the elf fits inside. We then marbleized the red ornament. Need directions on how to do so? Click here to find out! Glue the elf to the center of the marbled ornament once dry. Add words or the year by printing out or handwriting onto the completed keepsake.
