I try not to take my interpretation of turning a book into a room too literal.  I think it's more fun to bring in items in a clever and thoughtful way.  For example, I could have placed a palm tree in the room, found palm tree art, and added palm tree pillows, ending up with a room that looks more like a palm tree farm than a calm and cohesive space. Instead, I brought the green leaf color into large key pieces of the room like the desk and green print above the dresser.  You can see that I played off the polka dot boarder on the cover of the book through the polka dot pillows and pendant lamp. 

By bringing in the Chicka Chicka theme (or any other theme), in a subtle way, your child will be able to grow with the room and will easily be able to modify the room without making drastic changes (and less work for you) as time goes on.
